Sapana Sakya is Public Media Director at the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) where she oversees funding support for independent filmmakers and coordinates CAAM’s talent development program. Sapana’s background is in independent documentary and journalism. She’s produced and directed several documentaries including the award-winning DAUGHTERS OF EVEREST about the first Nepali women’s Everest expedition. Her films focus on people living between cultures. She’s also written for English language newspapers in Bangkok and Kathmandu and worked for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
